Holistic Integrative Counselling Course New Venue
This course was initially designed with therapists and healers in mind, and values their experience and existing skills but recognises the importance of preparing students to become confident and competent in professional counselling training. The programme incorporates a variety of learning opportunities through which the students will develop both their self-awareness, and their knowledge and skills relating to the process of helping and healing. This course not only covers counselling skills, psychological models and an integrative approach to counselling theories but also the energetic dynamics that are inevitably and integral part of the therapeutic relationship, an understanding of these dynamics and how best to utilize them. Aims of the course are:
Units covered Unit A: Establishing an awareness of self within the Transpersonal concept Unit B: Counselling: Skills, ethics, theory and process Unit C: The Mind/body connection: Energy exchange and the Wounded Healer Assessment and accreditation There is ongoing assessment of skills, both by peers, and the tutor. Written assessment is in the form of log pages geared towards fulfilling assessment criteria which not only covers an understanding of the course content but also personal response to content and thoughts for further development. Group diary entries are assessed for: - The ability to constructively comment on peer participation in group exercises Students through self assessment will reflect on the following questions: - why am I on this course? - what do I want to achieve? - where do I expect it to lead? These make up a portfolio evidencing their achievements, which is moderated on completion to OCN level 3. All successful students will receive both a College of Healing and an OCN certificate. The students are expected to be receiving ongoing counselling throughout the duration of the course. Course enrolment All students are expected to complete a questionnaire giving details of prior learning and experience. Either counselling skills training or experience in one to one listening work either paid or voluntary is expected. She is committed to a holistic approach to healing, healthcare and relationships, believing that each person has an inner innate wisdom that knows what the individual needs in order to be healthy and happy. Annie is an experienced facilitator with adults, having initiated and run practical courses/workshops on all aspects of self-awareness and self-empowerment. Meditation and Retreat Weekend This weekend is designed to create a safe place to relax and explore the process of meditation, to start to understand the benefits of this inner experience and to re-connect to who we truly are spiritually and our humaness. We so easily get caught up in the process of surviving that we lose the quality of living that is our natural heritage. The weekend is allowing space for you to allow your fun-loving, creative child to come out, together with space for various meditation practices. Meditation practices have been part of all spiritual disciplines since time immemorial. Its benefits include the ability to relax the physical, emotional and mental bodies, and to reinforce and develop our connection with our spiritual body Meditation techniques enable us to 'still' the chattering mind and find that peaceful place within. The weekend offers a peaceful and beautiful environment to de-stress, re-charge your batteries, and is open to all those who are willing to participate in the experience and you will be shown how to meditate safely in order to enhance the quality of your life and to have fun. Annie Drury is an experienced facilitator in this area and the healing fields, and has for the past twenty years incorporated meditation practice as part of her everyday life.She believes the challenge in the 21st centuary is to integrate who we are spiritually with who we are as a human being . It is a beautiful and accessible part of the Cotswolds and there are numerous footpaths in and around the village to explore. Basic Healing Course This course is designed for all those interested in developing safely their innate healing abilities. It is primarily about emphaising the need to be able to look after yourselves and from that place of balance to offer healing to others.
